Manufactured in 1855 with high polish blued finish. Fit with a 3 - 1/2" octagon barrel stamped on top flat in 2 lines "COLT'S PAT / 1855" and "ADDRESS COL. COLT / HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.". Pin front sight with frame notch rear. Standard spur trigger frame with 5-shot .28 caliber percussion cylinder roll marked with Ormsby Indian fight scene. Grips are 1-piece smooth walnut. CONDITION: Very fine. Frame retains the majority of its lustrous factory blue with areas of toning. Portions of thinning blue also retained on the barrel, with the cylinder largely drifted to brown patina. Strong, largely legible cylinder scene. Grips are very good, retaining significant amounts of original finish with a chip at the left heel. Frosted bore displaying strong, well-defined rifling. Mechanically fine.
