3rd model carbine manufactured circa 1869. Classic 20" round barrel with a full-length magazine tube, carbine sights, and 2-line Winchester address. Receiver is period nickel plated. Plain walnut forend and stock with tool compartment and nickel-plated brass crescent butt plate. CONDITION: Fine. Iron components have drifted to a pleasing chocolate brown patina with some cleaned, older oxidation. The vast majority of the bright nickel plating is retained with some flaking and thinning to golden-patinaed brass. Forend is good, showing some scattered marks and a split ahead of the barrel band. Stock fits somewhat proud and is a possible replacement, a small repaired chip is also present at the toe. Matching partial serial number observed on the butt plate. Dark abraded bore with visible rifling. Good mechanics.
