Second model manufactured in 1850. 7 - 1/2" octagon barrel with brass pin front sight and 1-line New York address. 6-shot .36 caliber percussion cylinder roll marked with partially legible naval engagement scene. Silver-plated brass grip straps with iconic early squareback trigger guard. Smooth 1-piece oiled finished walnut grips. CONDITION: Good. Steel components exhibit a gray patina throughout with some wear and mild freckling. Grip straps retain significant traces of plating, the balance thinned to gold-toned brass. Grips show moderate wear with some added finish, minor marks, and one larger bruise on the left side near the trigger guard. Bore displays strong, well-defined rifling with some abrasion from period black powder use. Cylinder does not always advance, revolver is otherwise mechanically fine. Matching numbers observed on frame, barrel assembly, loading lever, cylinder, and grip straps. Wedge is an unnumbered replacement. A nice, hard to find early Colt Navy.
