Manufactured at Harpers Ferry during the second run of production with a correct 36" octagon to round barrel bearing sunken intaglio eagle head over "P" and "US" proofs at the breech. Smoothbore measures .58 caliber with false rifling added at the muzzle. Dovetail brass blade front sight and v-notch rear. Professionally reconverted flint lock with central eagle motif and vertical "HARPERS / FERRY / 1817" tail marking. Half-length walnut stock with standard brass mounts including Germanic trigger guard and patch box. "V / JS" and "V / AW" inspector marks found on the left stock flat opposite the lock with additional "IIIVXX" present on the belly. Complete with iron ramrod. CONDITION: Very good as reconverted. Metal components display a pleasing brown patina with legible markings. Stock shows some expected bumps and wear, mounts fit somewhat proudly. Mounts display a mellowing patina with some darker spots. Mechanically fine.
