Converted circa 1866. Full-length musket barrel sleeved to .50 caliber with bayonet lug front sight and 3-position musket rear. Fit with Erskine Allin's trapdoor cartridge conversation breech block dated "1866" over an eagle head proof. Musket lock plate stamped with Springfield markings and "1864" date. Full-length walnut stock with standard iron mounts. Complete with wiping rod. CONDITION: Good. Iron components display a freckled chocolate brown patina. Markings are faint. Stock displays a rich age-darkened appearance with some expected impressions. Abraded bore with defined rifling. Mechanically fine.
