An included biography states that Charles Victor Hall was born in 1888 and served as a City Marshall in King City, California, from 1909 to 1920 before becoming a police officer in the suburb of Mesa Del Ray. The 1940 census confirms Hall lived in King City and was employed as a policeman. This wonderful grouping attributed to Hall includes a King City Marshal badge, iconic 6-pointed star Mesa Del Ray Police badge, Sheriff's and Police Officers Association of America enameled plaque, photographs of Hall and King City, as well as his Colt Army Special double action revolver, all pleasantly housed in a hardwood glass front display case. The revolver was manufactured in 1923 and features period engraved "C. V. HALL" with scroll and line borders on the right side. Revolver is otherwise standard for the period with polish blued finish, 5" barrel, .32-20 chambering, half moon front sight, 6-shot fluted cylinder, and 2-piece checkered hard rubber "COLT" grips. CONDITION: Very good. Revolver retains the vast majority of its original blued finish starting to thin with carry wear. Grips show only mild wear. Strong, lightly frosted bore. Revolver indexes correctly, but the cylinder latch needs adjustment. Case and accessories are very good. A very attractive identified pre-War California law enforcement grouping.
