Lot consists of: (A) 1 of 1,004 commemorative Colt Single Action Army ".45 PEACEMAKER" revolvers originally issued in 1864 commemorating the Pony Express with "RUSSELL, MAJORS AND WADDELL / PONY EXPRESS PRESENTATION MODEL" barrel markings. Brilliantly nickel finished with a 7 - 1/2" round barrel bearing standard 1-line address, blade front sight, 6-shot fluted cylinder, and 2-piece aftermarket imitation pearl grips. As correct for the serial number range back strap is marked "SACRAMENTO TO FRIDAY'S STATION". CONDITION: Excellent, showing only minor handling marks and a turn line. Fine, strong bore and crisp mechanics. (B) Same configuration as Gun (A), the back strap is instead marked with "ST. JOSEPH TO MARYSVILLE" as correct for the serial number range. Revolvers have matching serial numbers and are housed together as a pair in an aftermarket mahogany display case. CONDITION: Excellent, with a few light scratches and a faint turn line. Fine strong bore and crisp mechanics. Case is good with some surface scratches and impressions.
