Pre-Model 10 manufactured circa 1945 to 1948. Blued finish with pinned 6" round barrel, half moon front sight, frame notch rear, 6-shot fluted cylinder, 5 screw square butt K frame, case hardened serrated trigger and checkered hammer, and 2-piece diamond checkered walnut grips inset with S&W medallions. Housed in a correct 2-piece gold box. CONDITION: Excellent. Nearly all of the original factory-applied blued finish is retained with a few light marks and a ghost turn line. Case colors remain strong. Grips are excellent. Very fine bright bore displaying sharp rifling. Box is good with edgewear and a small tear.
