Covered in Class A (near complete coverage) engraving of scrollwork with punch dot background on frame; engraving is well executed but unsigned. Case color narrow serrated trigger and wide checkered case colored hammer. Smooth rosewood target grips with silver Smith & Wesson medallions. S&W letter from Roy Jinks confirms shipment March 13th, 1956, delivered to H.H. Harris of Chicago, Illinois, and that it left with rosewood target grips and Class A engraving. In the correct S&W blue box with end label identifying this gun and grease pencil markings on bottom further identifying this gun by serial number and rotating stocks and engraving; inside lid is marked "21994 Ranch KY", meaning unknown. CONDITION: Overall excellent, retaining virtually all of the factory bluing with crisp engraving and legends. Case colors on trigger and hammer are starting to fade at high edges but are overall very good with good colors. Stocks are very good with some handling marks, but fit well. Mechanically fine, a minor turn line, bore is very good with some mild frosting. Box is very good with some peeling to high edges and apron bottoms from age.
