Marked on blade with Randall maker mark on left side and "1 of 3" with an image of the Challenger space shuttle on the right side. Nickel silver collar and pommel. "NASA brown" micarta handle, made from original G3 found in the Kennedy Space Center Launch Complex 39, the same launch complex the Challenger took off from before its explosion on January 28th, 1986, tragically killing all 7 crew members. The micarta was acquired by Sportsman's Services when NASA renovated Kennedy Space Center after the Challenger tragedy as part of their Mission Memorial Project with Randall Made Knives to make commemorative knives with handles from Complex 39 G3. This knife is accompanied by the original brown Model C leather scabbard featuring NASA's "meatball" logo on bottom front side, and sharpening stone. Complete with Certificate of Authenticity confirming configuration signed by Captain Chris Stanaback (Sportsman's Services, Authorized Randall Dealer) and Perry Miller (Spaceport Cutlery, President of National Knife Collectors Association and National Knife Museum). CONDITION: Excellent+ and near mint, with blade bright, and no major signs of distress. Handle is in matching condition. Sheath is excellent, with tight stitching, leather pliable, and small tear on drag.
