Manufactured 1854-1859 with only a total of 2,970 made according to factory records. Features include 26" heavy contour octagonal barrel in 60 Bore (.427 caliber). Standard front and rear sights, and an early factory type sporting tang sight. 2-piece walnut stock and forearm with pewter nosecap, iron buttplate, and iron patchbox (patchbox is empty). Gun has a factory double set trigger and desirable slant breech mechanism. CONDITION: Very good, with virtually all of the original finishes turned a blue-brown patina with freckling throughout and light handling marks. Stock and forearm are very good original condition showing normal dings and handling marks from use. Mechanically fine. Bore is frosted with sharp rifling and light abrasion throughout.
