Lot consists of: (A) M1852 Naval Officer's Sword with 3/4" curved blade which dates to the late 1800s. The blade is decorated for about half its length with naval and patriotic motifs and exhibits a pleasant patina with nice etchings. Blade named to "H.F. Fuller". Hilt is standard configuration with "USN" on guard and serpent quillon. Simulated sharkskin grip wrapped with strands of twisted brass wire. Knucklebow scaled toward pommel, missing pommel cap. Hilt exhibits a pleasing patina with intact grip. Complete with leather scabbard that exhibits cracks, creases, and a few repairs. Fouled mounts with serpent drag. Upper mount is engraved "Presented to / H.F. Fuller, / by members of Co. B / Naval Brigade". Mounts exhibit light polishing but present well. A nice named M1852 sword. CONDITION: Good. (B) M1852 Naval Officer's Sword with 3/4" straight blade which dates to the 20th century. The blade is decorated for about half its length with naval and patriotic motifs and exhibits a light patina. Hilt is standard configuration with "USN" on guard and serpent quillon. Simulated sharkskin grip wrapped with strands of twisted brass wire. Knucklebow scaled toward pommel with eagle pommel cap. Hilt exhibits a pleasing patina with intact grip. Complete with leather scabbard that exhibits scattered scuffs. Fouled mounts with serpent drag. Nice patina on mounts. CONDITION: Very good.
