Built by the A.H. Fox Gun Company of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1923. Blued 30" Chromox Steel barrels in 12 gauge, marked on undersides with a "1", and fitted with matted rib, brass bead front sight, extractors, 2 -3/4" chambers, and Full and Modified chokes. Case hardened floral later style chisel type full coverage engraving with double triggers, automatic safety, and blued engraved trigger guard. Checkered walnut round knob pistol grip stock with factory hard rubber buttplate. Matching checkered walnut splinter forearm with Anson and Deeley release latch. Comes with period canvas case with 3 piece wooden cleaning rod and wipe. CONDITION: 90% original barrel blue with edges turning silver with trigger guard having similar blue wear. Action exhibits 40% original case colors with action worn to silvery patina at the carry points. Wood retains 80% original varnish with some light flaking around wear points. The forearm has an old repair with epoxy at the tip; otherwise no visible cracks or restoration. Good screws with tight lockup and with mirror bores and good mechanics. A nice honest old Fox!
