Manufactured in 1887. Rare Colt Single Action Army Sheriff's model with a 4" barrel. Blade front and a V notch rear sights. Colt 2-line address on top of the barrel, "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. / HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.". Caliber marking on the left side of the barrel, "45 COLT". 3-line patent on left side of the frame. Matching serial numbers observed on the frame, trigger guard, and backstrap. 2-piece hard rubber grips with an American Eagle and Rampant Colt motif on each grip. The grips have been changed at some point in the history of this gun. The pin is missing, indicating that this gun, at some point in time, had a 1-piece grip on it. PROVENANCE: Richard "Dick" Burdick collection. CONDITION: The gun has some of the original blue finish on the barrel, backstrap, and in the flutes on the cylinder. All of the case color has silvered. Fair bore with some frosting in the lands and grooves. Grips show some wear with no chips or cracks.
