Per the included factory letter, this revolver shipped with a 4 - 3/4" barrel in .44-40, blued finish, unlisted stocks, and factory engraved "Ramon Cavanllo" on backstrap. I was sold to Soto Bros & Company, address unavailable, and shipped in Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Company, Chicago, Illinois, on August 28th, 1894, in a shipment of 1. Further outfitted with a period Bridgeport rig with period leather belt, maker marked "-.T. WHITTEM/ MAKER/COMPTON, CAL" with original nickel-plated buckle. Typical "COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER" marked barrel fitted with standard blade front sight and marked with Colt 2-line address. Case hardened frame with matching serial numbers observed on receiver, trigger guard, and butt. Backstrap engraved in script with owner's name "RAMON CAVANLLO". Gun is fitted with later-period Eagle pearl grips. PROVENANCE: Richard "Dick" Burdick Collection CONDITION: No original finish with light handling marks, possibly cleaned long ago and now fading to a silvery gray patina. Good grips with small hairline blemish in right grip. Frosted bore with visible rifling; good mechanics with all 4 click positions. PROVENANCE: Richard "Dick" Burdick collection.
