Lot consists of: (A) Tiffany & Co. British P1821 Civil War Cavalry Saber. Maker mark, on both sides of ricasso, “Tiffany & Co.” Spear pointed blade measuring 36” with flat spine marked ”RM & SB". Blade with dark gray patina exhibits traces of spotting. Repair toward ricasso. Leather washer present. Hilt is tight with ironwork, backstrap, and ears exhibiting medium tarnish. Grooved wood grip. Complete with scabbard marked "P.3.R.A. 4" that exhibits a gray patina. CONDITION: Good. (B) Regulation US 1833 pattern saber for enlisted dragoons. Modeled on the British 1822 pattern. Standard 1833 pattern hilt, blade, and scabbard. Blade etched "United States" over a leafy branch on reverse. Obverse etched "NP Ames / Cutler / Springfield / 183(?)" near base of blade. Inspector stamp "WS". Blade exhibits a gray patina with scattered blemishes. Brass hilt exhibits a dark patina. Brown leather grip wrap intact with areas of cracking. Coiled wire binding complete and in place. Original leather blade pad. Scabbard complete with drag, rings, and throat, exhibits a gray/chocolate patina. CONDITION: Good. (C) 1796 Pattern British sword marked "BINNIE / & MASON / 31 / Old Bond / London". Blade is decorated for about half its length with foliate motifs. Blade remains bright with scattered blemishes. VR crest on folded guard with crown pommel. Hilt exhibits generous traces of original gilding. Sword knot accommodated by knucklebow. Complete with leather scabbard that features brass mounts adorned with foliate motifs. Upper mount is slightly loose. Areas of leather loss and scuffs. Mounts with nice patina. CONDITION: Very good.
