With a very limited production run of 500 in 1989, Snake Eyes Pythons have become one of the most collectible of Colt's Snake Guns. The set consists of pair of revolvers wearing mirrored serial numbers "EYES396" and "396EYES", respectively finished in rich Royal Blue and lustrous Ultimate Stainless for fine contrast. Both revolvers sport desirable 2 - 1/2" ventilated rib barrels chambered in .357 Magnum and roll marked "SNAKE EYES" on the left and with 2-line address on the right. Orange insert ramped front sights and adjustable white outline target rears. Both guns feature 2-piece simulated ivory grips scrimshawed with a pair of snake eye dice on the left side and a royal flush of cards on the right, done in black and red polychrome. Revolvers are accompanied by their correct dovetailed wooden display case with gilt trimmed glass front with snake eyes motif. Case interior is lit and lined with green felt, decorated with poker chips, cards, and a pair of dice. Each revolver is also accompanied by their original matching maroon Colt sleeve type boxes with factory paperwork including manuals and hang tags. Also included are a pair of sealed Colt-branded Snake Eyes card decks in contrasting white and blue. CONDITION: Near mint as delivered from the factory. Consignor purchased new and never fired them. They only display the slightest of handling marks and ghost turn lines. Bores are near excellent, shiny and bright with some mild frosting. Case is fine showing some light marks from storage and display. All but 1 of the original acrylic mounting rods are intact, with 1 broken but present, a common occurrence with these sets. Light functions correctly at the time of cataloging. Boxes are very good showing some expected light surface wear and a small tear near the label flap of the blued gun's box. An impressive and very attractive set. A true modern classic.
