In the appropriate serial number range for a Red 9. Barleycorn front sight, V notch rear sight with sliding elevator adjustable to 500 yards. Full or partial serial numbers observed on left side of chamber, top of bolt carrier, bolt stop, rear of hammer (with entwined "NS" for Mauser's New Safety), subrame, frame, sear, and inside of grips; magazine baseplate mismatched. Other features as standard with iconic "9" branded grips, late trigger, late extractor, and Waffenfabrik Mauser markings. Non-standard marks include "GERMANY" export proof on left side of chamber, and "1920 / S (encircled)" on right side; 1920 a property marking related to the Treaty of Versailles, circled S unknown. Legends with red paint infill to enhance visibility. Stock of correct style attaches correctly with some wobble. CONDITION: Metal is largely an event mix of dove grey and plum-browning, with areas of bluing retained on frame and rear of barrel assembly, approximately 40%. Even scattered darkness throughout. appropriate burnishing to stamps from application. Mechanically fine, bore has strong rifling and some mild frosting. Stock heavily revarnished with no visible legends, normal handling marks throughout, some showing bare wood.
