Manufactured by Colt circa 1870 to 1890, carrying on production from the National Arms Company. The polish blued 2 - 1/4" barrel is marked on the top flat with 2-line Colt address and "No. 1" designation. Chambered in .41 Short RF with a German silver half moon front sight and hammer notch rear. The steel spur trigger frame is factory engraved with light, open foliate scrolls and checkered pads. PROVENANCE: From the advanced collection of the esteemed and respected Dr. Jim Watson of Scottsdale, Arizona. CONDITION: Very good overall. barrel retains significant portions of thinning factory blue with a few areas of freckling. Frame displays a pleasing gray patina. Strong bore with some areas of moderate black powder abrasion. Fine, crisp mechanics. Matching serial numbers observed on the frame and barrel assembly.
