Standard configuration of the Model N Colt pistol with normal marks throughout. "U.S. Property" marking on right side of dust cover, however no known 1908 Vest Pockets were shipped to military locations, but several 1908 VP pistols were procured for use by U.S. personnel, including OSS agents, who purchased them commercially. Some 1908s show up in the Springfield Research Service, but this one does not. Fully checkered walnut grip with silver Colt medallions. PROVENANCE: From the advanced collection of the esteemed and respected Dr. Jim Watson of Scottsdale, Arizona. CONDITION: Retains virtually all of the reparkerized finish with some handling marks throughout, most superficial but a few silvering. Some softness to legends. U.S. Property mark is crisp. Mechanically fine, bore with heavy frosting and very soft rifling.
