Manufactured in 1868. Features include a polished 4 - 1/2" round barrel sporting a single line New York address and pin front sight. Standard 5-shot .36 caliber fluted cylinder. Fit with wonderful 1-piece smooth ivory grips, "I.P." stamping indicating this revolver was slated for factory ivory grips is found throughout. PROVENANCE: From the advanced collection of the esteemed and respected Dr. Jim Watson of Scottsdale, Arizona. CONDITION: Very fine overall. Barrel retains the vast majority of brilliant factory blue with some wear and thinning. Cylinder also retains significant portions of original blue especially in protected areas, the balance fading to patina. Generous amounts of muted case colors present. Grip straps display a mellow golden patina with a few traces of original silver plate. Grips are very fine with a few minor marks and shrinkage, overall exhibiting a lovely honey patina. Very good bright bore with areas of abrasion. Fine mechanics. Matching full or partial serial numbers observed on barrel assembly, frame, grip straps, cylinder, cylinder arbor, and wedge. Grips numbered "7934" (one digit off), likely a factory error. A very attractive percussion Colt.
