Made by Colt Firearms Company in 1860, with approximately 4,000 made. This one is serial number 416. Blued finish 8" round .44 caliber barrel with factory bead front sight and Colt single-line Hartford address. Case hardened Colt's Patent marked 4-screw frame with silver plated round trigger guard and rare matching blued fluted cylinder, case hardened creeping loading lever provision, and provision for shoulder stock. Standard style checkered bone one-piece grip. All matching serial number markings. PROVENANCE: From the advanced collection of the esteemed and respected Dr. Jim Watson of Scottsdale, Arizona. CONDITION: 95% original blue with light edge wear with light visible turn line, pitting, and dings along barrel. Sharp cylinder blue with finish turning gray. 50% original faded case colors with 90% remaining silver plate. 90% original finish on grips with light scratches and some age cracking. Screws show some damage. Good bore with crisp mechanics and sharp rifling. A nice Colt.
