Manufactured in 1868. Blue barrel assembly with a German silver blade front sight. Single line address on top of the barrel. "-ADDRESS COL. SAML COLT NEW-YORK U. S. AMERICA-". V notch rear sight at the top of the hammer. Case color loading lever, frame, and hammer. Silver-plated brass trigger guard and back strap. Varnished 1-piece walnut grip. Naval battle scene on the cylinder. The serial number is on the barrel assembly, frame, trigger guard, and backstrap. The last three of the serial number is on the arbor, grip, and side of the cylinder. "COLTS / PATENT" on the left side of the frame and "36 CAL" on the left rear of the trigger bow. PROVENANCE: From the advanced collection of the esteemed and respected Dr. Jim Watson of Scottsdale, Arizona. CONDITION: Gun retains most of the original factory-applied blue finish with a few scratches and handling marks. Some thinning on the sides. Vivid case colors with some slight thinning on the left side of the frame. Grip retains the vast majority of the original varnish, with just a few dings and contusions. Bright and shiny bore with sharp lands and grooves. The battle scene is very good with virtually no wear. This Colt would be hard to upgrade.
