Lot consists of: (A) A very interesting cartridge box that is the combination of a cartridge box and a hunting bag. Measures approximately 9" x 2" x 8" The body is constructed of leather and features a fur accented flap and twin accented body. Interior contains 20 tin tubes; this bag was most likely carried by a mounted individual. There is a smaller compartment underneath the twine that retains its leather securing knot. Larger compartment on reverse which is covered by a large leather flap and retains its leather securing knots. The bag comes with a leather sling which is separated. The body remains somewhat supple with stiff areas, Scattered cracks and leather loss. Quite an interesting bag/box combo that is guaranteed to initiate conversation. CONDITION: Good. (B) Interesting rectangular cartridge box that measures approximately 10" x 3". Flap features a border decorated with small triangles and interesting iconography at center which could possibly be an unraveling scroll topped with the same type of triangle that decorates the border. 25-hole wood insert contained inside. 2 leather belt loops on reverse held in place by iron nails, 1 is separated at the top. Missing leather securing knot. The body is mostly stiff with scattered areas of surface creasing and cracks. Scattered areas of leather loss and heavier wear. CONDITION: Good.
