Kart is one of the premiere makers of 1911 parts to this day and their .22 LR conversion units are legendary. This example is mounted on a Colt series 70 frame and has a fixed undercut front sight, adjustable square notch rear sight, Kart replacement slide release, "KART SPORTING ARMS CORP. / RIVERHEAD, N.Y." on non-reciprocating area of slide and ".22 L.R." on reciprocating area. Narrow hammer, serrated safety, serrated trigger, serrated magazine release, short grip safety, serrated flat mainspring housing, stippled front strap. U.S. Arms Corp .22 magazine. PROVENANCE: From the advanced collection of the esteemed and respected Dr. Jim Watson of Scottsdale, Arizona. CONDITION: Retains virtually all of the bluing with some superficial handling marks throughout. Some very minor silvering from handling and use. Mechanically fine, bore is excellent. Kart units are extremely desirable and finding one already fitted and ready is scarce.
