Manufactured 1909. Half-moon front sight, U-notch round top rear sight. Left side of slide with 2-line, 2-block patent and address information, last patent date December 19th, 1905. Rear of slide with encircled Rampant Colt. Right side with "AUTOMATIC COLT / CALIBRE 45 RIMLESS SMOKELESS". External extractor. Spur hammer. Frame with serial number on left side, left side of trigger guard with "VP" proof and "W" proof. Checkered truncated diamond checkered walnut grips. Full blue magazine. PROVENANCE: From the advanced collection of the esteemed and respected Dr. Jim Watson of Scottsdale, Arizona. CONDITION: Overall excellent, retaining the vast majority of the Colt bluing and case color, with crisp legends. Appropriate burnishing is visible on VP proof and W subinspector. Some superficial scratches from handling and storage throughout, and some minor silvering to high edges consistent with holster wear and reciprocating and high traffic areas. Top of slide has 2 areas of cleaned corrosion. Mechanically fine, bore is very good with strong rifling and some moderate frosting.
