A classic 19th century self protection handgun featuring a 2 - 1/2" 4 barrel cluster chambered in .22 RF. Actuated by a rotating firing pin and spur trigger. Barrel cluster is marked with early straight line patent and address markings. Brass pin front sight and frame notch rear. The silver plated frame is very attractively engraved in the New York style, likely factory, with foliate scrolls and shell motifs over punch dot backgrounds with rope borders. Grips are 2-piece gutta percha with relief molded floral and vine decoration. PROVENANCE: From the advanced collection of the esteemed and respected Dr. Jim Watson of Scottsdale, Arizona. CONDITION: Fine. The barrels have faded to an even dove-gray patina. Frame retains the vast majority of its toned silver plate with some areas of thinning. Grips are very fine. Bore display strong rifling with some frosting. Fine mechanics.
