Made by Colt Firearms Company in 1937. Blued finish 6" round barrel with factory large pinned blade target front sight and adjustable notch rear sight, "OFFICERS MODEL 38/HEAVY BARREL" marking, and Colt 2-line address with 1926 patent date. Blued frame with Rampant Colt, knurled grip, blued trigger, and blued 6-shot fluted cylinder. Checkered walnut Rampant Colt emblem stocks. Comes in purple matching box with no papers. PROVENANCE: From the advanced collection of the esteemed and respected Dr. Jim Watson of Scottsdale, Arizona. CONDITION: 95% blue with light edge wear with light visible turn line and discoloration on crane from operation. 90% finish on grips with sharp checkering. Mirror bore with crisp mechanics. Box in good condition with original owner's address and gun serial number in ink pen on the bottom of box.
