German World War II NCO tunic to a member of the "Grossdeutschland Division". Early war M36 style Feldgrau wool tunic with pleated and scalloped pockets, and a gray cotton fully lined interior, exhibit only very light wear and damage. Standard provisions for wearing a dagger are present. A tailor tag marked "Friedrich Bergmueller, Hof/ Bayen" is attached inside the inner pocket, with a handwritten date of "18.3.44" (March 3, 1944) and an illegible name and number. The name, once identified, would make an interesting research project. Officer quality bullion eagle is hand-applied, NCO collar tress is machine-sewn, and the collar tabs are machine-sewn. Both the NCO tress and collar tabs appear slightly sloppily sewn. Feldwebel infantry-piped shoulder straps are sewn-in, very rare textbook original enlisted/NCO "Grossdeutschland" unit cyphers and NCO pips are correctly attached, as well as NCO collar tress. An officer quality bullion "Grossdeutschland" cuff title is attached to the right sleeve which appears to have been reapplied. Feldgrau buttons appear to be original to the tunic. A very rare tunic! CONDITION: Overall excellent. WEZ
