Approximately 15,000 manufactured circa 1896 to 1916. Blued .22 caliber 10" octagon to round tip up barrel stamped with 2-line "J. STEVENS A. & T. CO." address. Correct hooded post front sight with German silver half-moon blade mounted to top. Adjustable v-notch and aperture rear sight. Frame is nickel-plated with a matching nickel-plated detachable skeleton stock. Grips are smooth 2-piece walnut. PROVENANCE: From the personal and advanced collection of Dr. Jim Watson of Scottsdale, Arizona. CONDITION: Excellent. Bountiful amounts of factory blue are retained on the barrel with some thinning and scattered marks. Frame and stock display nearly all of their bright nickel plating, a small casting flaw present at the heel. Grips are very good, with some scattered impressions. Strong, bright bore. Mechanically fine.
