A scarce example of a true "peanut sized" deringer pistol, with an accompanying letter from respected authority Doug Eberhart. Per Doug's letter, the overall is 4 - 1/4" and the barrel is 1 - 1/8", and is all original, including the cap trap in buitt, a scarce feature that Doug notes is only on about 10% of guns. Typical features include engraved German silver mounts, engraved back action percussion lock with "DERINGER / PHILADEL" marking, which is also on breech. Birdshead grips with checkering. PROVENANCE: From the personal and advanced collection of Dr. Jim Watson of Scottsdale, Arizona. CONDITION: Good, barrel with evidence of lightning bolt pattern still visible, with good browning mixed with some flecks of pitting. Grips and stock very good with some minor chips missing at lock. Mounts are good with crisp engraving. Mechanically fine, bore is good. A good example of a very scarce pistol.
