Manufactured in 1862 during the Civil War. 8" polished blued barrel with 1-line New York address, German silver blade front sight, and hammer notch rear. Rebated cylinder roll engraved with naval engagement scene. Case hardened 4 screw frame cut for shoulder stock with matching blued steel back strap. Standard silver plated brass trigger guard. Grips are 1-piece varnished walnut. PROVENANCE: From the personal and advanced collection of Dr. Jim Watson of Scottsdale, Arizona. CONDITION: Fine. Significant portions of original blue displayed on the barrel and cylinder, balance fading to brown patina. Mostly legible cylinder scene. Case colors are bright and generous. Majority of silver plating retained on trigger guard, some thinning present on the front strap. Grips are very fine showing only light marks and finish loss. Strong, fine bore. Crisp mechanics. Full or partial matching numbers observed throughout, the wedge not matching.
