Manufactured circa early 1863 at the height of the Civil War. Blued 4" octagon barrel with 1-line New York address, pin front sight, and hammer notch rear. Percussion cylinder rolled with the stagecoach holdup scene. Standard silver plated grip straps and smooth walnut grips. PROVENANCE: From the personal and advanced collection of Dr. Jim Watson of Scottsdale, Arizona. CONDITION: Fine. Traces of factory blue present, the balance thinning to a mottled patina. Cylinder scene largely legible. Generous case colors. Grip straps retain the vast majority of their thinning silver plate. Grips have some scattered minor marks, light wear around the base, and a large area of finish loss on the left side. Strong bore with some black powder abrasion. Fine mechanics. Matching full or partial numbers observed throughout.
