Manufactured circa 1928 with 5 - 1/2" barrel chambered in the scarce .38 Colt cartridge with blade front sight and frame notch rear sight. Only 1,365 Colt Single Action Armys were chambered in .38 Colt after 1922. Blue finish with color case hardened frame and hammer. Mounted with factory checkered 2 piece gutta percha grips featuring a Rampant Colt in an oval on either side. PROVENANCE: From the personal and advanced collection of Dr. Jim Watson of Scottsdale, Arizona. CONDITION: Excellent+ for its age, with nearly all of the original bluing remaining with scattered light handling marks, mostly on the cylinder and butt. Frame and hammer retain brilliant case colors. Cylinder has a slight dragline. Grips are in matching condition with no major signs of distress. Mechanically tight and crisp, with all 4 hammer stops present. Bore is lightly frosted with sharp rifling.
