Late 1920s German "Gustav Genschow & Co.", "Geco" sporting .22LR rifle marked "Original Geco Sportbuchse Mod. 28", "Kal .22 Long Rifle 5.4mm", and the serial # "4742" on the barrel, and "BUG" proofs on the barrel and receiver. Receiver is also marked with the "Geco" emblem, and the bolt is matching and has the last 3 serial number digits "742" and "Bug" proofs. Blued finish on barrel, receiver, sights, trigger guard, and sling swivels. Rear sight is adjustable for both elevation and windage, requires a key, and the front sight is removeable. Walnut stock with finger grooves forearm, and a black "Bakelit" butt plate with the "Geco" emblem. CONDITION: Approximately 75% of its original blued finish remains with thinning, and almost unnoticeable very light freckling. Walnut stock has a coat of varnish, with a moderate amount of shallow scratches and dings under the finish, and a 1/4" area of damage near the butt plate. Bore is bright, rifle is mechanically sound, and functional. An early uncommon 1920s German rimfire sporting rifle. WEZ
