Manufactured 1944. Serrated undercut front sight, Elliason rear sight. "600" stamped behind ejection port, "P" ahead of front sight. Barrel with "45 AUTO / NM 7790313". Normal legends for Remington Rand throughout. Small parts comprise narrow checkered hammer, thick tab checkered safety, serrated slide release, serrated aluminum trigger shoe, checkered magazine release, long A1 grip safety, flat mainspring housing with lanyard loop ground off. Front strap and back strap, up through grip safety, have been checkered with deep hatch-patterned checkering. Oversized fully checkered walnut grips. Bushing is fit very tightly and does not permit disassembly. Full blue magazine with "R" on baseplate lip for Risdon manufacture. PROVENANCE: From the advanced collection of the esteemed and respected Dr. Jim Watson of Scottsdale, Arizona. CONDITION: Metal retains virtually all of what appears to be the original parkerization, with burnishing visible in the crossed cannons cartouche when applied. Heat distortion visible next to ejection port and at front sight. Checkering is well cut. Mechanically fine, bore is very good with strong rifling and frosting at edges of grooves.
