Manufactured in 1961 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Civil War. These consecutively numbered single shot pistols are styled after the iconic Model 1860 Army percussion revolver and are chambered in .22 Short with blued barrels, gilt frames, and 2-piece smooth walnut grips. Revolvers are housed together in a correct French fit blue and gray Colt leatherette case. A brass presentation plaque mounted to the top of the case indicates this pair was presented "TO / JIM WATSON / FOR SERVICE ABOVE AND / BEYOND THE CALL OF / FRIENDSHIP" from friends including notable collectors "MARVIN HERSHENZON / ARNOLD CHERNOFF / ROSALIND CHERNOFF / CHLORIS NOGA / NICK AGUIS / HARRY SETH". Complete with original certificate filled out to "Dr. James Watson" and dated "4/29/62". PROVENANCE: From the personal and advanced collection of Dr. Jim Watson of Scottsdale, Arizona. CONDITION: Excellent. Pistols are as new with only light handling marks. Bore are bright and strong with some light areas of pitting. Some staining and wear present on the case.
