Instant library consisting of 10 books for the submachinegun enthusiast and Tommy Gun researcher. Highlight of the lot is the two volume set by Herigstad that contains a listing of all the original Colt manufactured Thompson machine guns organized in serial number order with information on configuration (whether fitted with Cutts compensator), converted to 1928 specifications, and also past owners and/or history (including dates) if available. There are also sections that provide the reader with details about historical events, such as when 495 Thompson machine guns were seized before they could be transported to Ireland, as well as other events and notable users, such as the St. Valentine's Day Massacre, and use of Thompsons by John Dillinger, the FBI, and the U.S. Navy. There are sections pertaining to destroyed Thompsons and exported Thompsons as well. These are very heavy hardbound volumes bound in silver-decorated maroon leatherette, and housed in a matching slipcase. Truly one of the most exhaustive and entertaining reference works pertaining to the Thompson machine gun out there, and one which Thompson collectors return to over and over. CONDITION: Very Good. Pages solid to bindings.

Item Dimensions: 12 x 9 x 14"
