Standard blued barrel with silver blade front sight and italic "COLT" marking, attractively embellished with foliate scroll engraving over a punch dot background. Gold bands present around the muzzle and at the breech, with the "COLT" barrel marking also bordered in gold. The foliate engraving over punch dot backgrounds extends onto the spur trigger frame, which appears to be gold-washed. Approximately 75% engraving coverage. Bird's head grips are aftermarket. 2-piece checkered walnut. PROVENANCE: From the personal and advanced collection of Dr. Jim Watson of Scottsdale, Arizona. CONDITION: Very good. Barrel blue has largely faded to patina. Gold bands remain intact. Frame plating shows some thinning but remains bright and attractive. Grips are excellent. Strong bore with some lightly cleaned black powder oxidation. Mechanically fine.
