Circa 1918. A lightweight game gun with 29 - 1/4" nitro proofed chopper lump barrels. Barrels are fit with ejectors and 2 - 1/2" chambers. Barrels are furnished with a narrow, concave, raised rib. Rib reads "BOSS & Co. 41 ALBEMARLE STREET. PICCADILLY . LONDON. W1.". Barrel lump reads "6655" for serial number. Barrel flats are stamped "NP", "20", "2 1/2"", "3 TONS" and "615". Tubes are stamped "9046". Chokes are Improved Cylinder in both barrels. Light case colored sidelock action with rose bouquets and scroll engraving with "BOSS & Co." in ribbon. Action with gold line cocking indicator, blacked engraved and checkered top lever, and a blacked, engraved, and checkered slide safe. "SAFE" in gold inlay. Gun is auto-safe. Action also with Boss & Co. single mechanical (triple pull) trigger. Trigger protected by right hand rolled edge blacked and scroll engraved trigger guard. Bottom strap is blacked and engraved with scroll and the serial number. Trigger plate is engraved, reading "BOSS'S PATENT 11278". Newer reddish brown stock with drop points and sharp checkering on English straight hand grip. Belly of stock with small gold oval, stock is finished with a checkered wood extension. Darker forend with similar checkering and Anson push button release. Escutcheon, diamond, and exterior iron metal are engraved with scrolls. Gun lives in a green canvas case. CONDITION: Good as rebarreled and restocked. Barrels retain mostly all of their blue and bores are bright. Action, trigger, and ejectors are sound. Stock good with some light handling marks. Forend is good. Case is good with handling and storage marks.
