Rare early printing of Thomas Paine’s landmark work. Octavo, bound in calf over marble boards, gilt titles, and tooling to the spine. Printed for J. Ridgway and dated 1791, addressed to the inhabitants of America. Contains 88 pages with aspersions to the king and government deleted. Wear around the edges of the cover and spine. Pages exhibit light toning and foxing with blemishes typical of old texts. This copy was retained in the library of Dr. John K. Lattimer. A fine example that was treasured in a renowned collection. CONDITION: Good.
