An attractive and displayable land grant from the Supreme Executive Council of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania signed by founding father Benjamin Franklin. The grant is for a man by the name of George Breathed for "A certain Tract of Land called "Venture" Situate on Brush Creek which empties into the Raystown Branch of Juniata including the Big Sick in Providence Township Bedford County...". Dated 10 May 1780, the document is handsomely signed by Franklin far left center "B. Franklin" just above the fold line. The grant measures approximately 15 - 1/2" by 13 - 1/2" when unfolded. This historic document is former Dr. John K. Lattimer Collection and comes with a James Spence Authentication Full Letter of Authenticity. Noticeable light edge wear with scattered light blemishes and visible fold lines. Ink remains clear and legible despite some staining. A very nice document that is ready to be framed. CONDITION: Good.
