Lattimer 1775; Pay order to Dr. Coit for attending men in Lattimer’s and other companies at New London 1775; Pay order Col. Lattimer 1781; 4 pay orders 1777 to officers in Lattimer’s regiment; 1783 CT pay order to Latimer from taxes; Oct 1782 Abstract of provisions ordered that month for the “Flying Hospital,” most by Henry Lattimer Surgeon; Jan. 1781 pay receipt of Levi Lattimer of Webb’s Regiment; 26 Nov 1842 copy New-York Weekly Tribune with article on George Lattimer, a jailed fugitive slave freed by Boston abolitionists. Jonathan Lattimer, the major and colonel, served in the French and Indian War and in the Revolution was Major 7th CT 6 Jul to 19 Dec 1775; Lt. Colonel of Selden’s Connecticut State Regiment 20 June to 11 Dec. 1776, often in command of the unit. He was present at the Siege of Boston, Battles for Long Island and New York, and as Colonel led a regiment of Connecticut militia 23 Aug to 10 Nov 1777 in the Saratoga Campaign, serving in Poor’s brigade, fighting at Freeman’s Farm and Bemis Heights. Pay orders to him as major refer to his role as paymaster of the Third Company, which would be the major’s company of the regiment. Ex-Lattimer Collection. 7 documents signed by Oliver Ellswoth are accompanied by James Spence Authentication Full Letters of Authenticity. CONDITION: Good.
