Lot consists of: (A) Colonial Pennsylvania indenture dated June 15, 1782 and signed by William Moore, who was a Pennsylvania statesman and politician of the Revolutionary era, serving as Vice-President of Pennsylvania from 1779-1781, and then as President from 1781-1782. The indenture was signed during Moore's time as President of Pennsylvania and is addressed to a Joseph Ogden. Countersigned on left side by T. Matlack. The indenture is on vellum and was stored folded. Print and ink are both legible with ink exhibiting fading in areas. Small holes at center fold line. Edge wear toward bottom. CONDITION: Good. (B) 1784 dated document signed by Marinus Willett as sheriff that is ordering an arrest. Separated on 1 vertical fold, with loss of 1 word at top center. Signatures not affected. Yellowing with bold ink and legible writing. CONDITION: Good. Indenture with 1980 dated receipt and arrest order with previous description. Both are former Dr. John K. Lattimer Collection and each comes with a James Spence Authentication Full Letter of Authenticity.
