(A) Scarce manuscript map of part of harbor at New London, Connecticut. 7" by 7". ”Willeys Point,” “the Sound,” and properties of Stanton and Bartlett families identify the location, last quarter 18th century. A strategic position in the Revolutionary War. (B) October 1775 pay order for Capt. Thomas Fleming, Captain of the fifth Military Company in the town of Groton, belonging to the 8th Regiment in the Colony of Connecticut "due the company for attendance at half day Trainings and General Trainings…” Signed by 2 Justices of the Peace. (C) Pay receipt signed by Joseph Trow April 9, 1783, “received of Tim. Pickering QMG & D. Wolfe twenty dollars in full for four tons of hay.” Signed at top “E. Bunschoten Maj. Col. Willets regt.” Elias Van Bunschoten (1749-ca.1805) and Marinus Willet (1740-1830) were both New York officers. PROVENANCE: Ex-Lattimer collection. CONDITION: Very good.
