Lot consists of: (A) Manuscript record of the mess accounts of various officers of the 3rd New York Regiment, Jan.-Mar., 1776, kept in an unknown hand and filling 4 - 1/2 pages, small 4to. Officers cited to include Major Lewis Dubois (Duboys), Capt. Thos. DeWitt, Capt. Jacobus S. Bruyn, and lieutenants: James Gregg, Albert Pawling, Henry Dodge, Cornelius T. Jansen, and Philip Bubois Bevier. Details reveal allowances to the officers for such items as wine, milk, fish, flour, tobacco, turkey, eggs, mutton, and hens. A few marginal nicks, edge wear, fold lines, and small holes. Ink is bold and legible. CONDITION: Good. (B) DeWitt Clinton ALS dated 1819 "My Bro James arrived at Norfolk in the Peacock + is now here. The enclsoed letter will explain his views. He will continue here until he receives your order." signed "DeWitt Clinton". Matted on paper with bold ink and legible writing. CONDITION: Good. (C) 1819 dated New York State appointment appointing John Folmar as a captain in the 51st Regiment of Infantry. Signed at bottom by DeWitt Clinton. Measures approximately 15 - 1/2" x 9 - 1/2". Folded at center. Fold lines with scattered staining and edge wear. Bold ink with legible writing. CONDITION: Good. All pieces are former Dr. John K. Lattimer Collection and the 2 DeWitt Clinton signatures are accompanied by a James Spence Authentication Full Letter of Authenticity.
