A fine copy of The Assassination of President Lincoln and the Trial of the Conspirators that was signed by Secretary of State William Seward and his sons. The book is signed on the flyleaf and reads "Dr. Wilson / From his gratefull / and affectionate friend / William H. Seward / F.W. Seward / A H Seward". Dr. Wilson is noted to have treated Frederick Seward's injuries after Lewis Powell's assassination attempt. He is referenced in the book, especially on pages 156-158. The book is intact and appears complete with all pages. Some separation of the covers on each side of the spine. Upper spine is damaged and appears that the book was dropped and landed on the upper portion of the spine. This book was once part of the Dr. John K. Lattimer Library and comes with a James Spence Authentication Full Letter of Authenticity. Dr. Lattimer was known for his research regarding the Lincoln assassination and the attempt on Secretary of State Seward that same night. Many renowned artifacts relating to Lincoln and Seward were housed in his collection for many years. CONDITION: Good.
