Lot consists of: (A) Vellum land grant to Doctor Benjamin Rush of a land called "Lowland" on the waters of Marsh Creek in Bald Eagle Township, Mifflin County, Pennsylvania. Signed by Governor Thomas Mifflin, April 1795. Deed reserves a fifth part of all Gold and Silver ore for the state. Large rumpled white paper star seal. Countersigned on verso by Matthew Irwin, Revolutionary War patriot. Stored folded. Some soiling with all text legible. With 1979 receipt for Dr. Lattimer. CONDITION: Good. (B) Benjamin Rush ALS, 1 full page, 4to, November 1785, with integral address-leaf. To Mr. John Brown. "Mrs. Rush will pay the last tribute of respect to the remains of your dear Mrs. Brown as pallbearer. I have complied with your request, by drawing up a short character of her for the newspapers..." Fold lines with light staining, edge wear, and slight separation at fold lines. CONDITION: Good. (C) Partly printed receipt of the Receiver-General's Office for 19 shillings specie from Benjamin Furguson and Doctor Benjamin Rush in a settlement of 233 acres of land in Bedford County, March 1794, signed at Philadelphia by Francis Johnston. Ink signature "Dr. Rush" on verso, "h" a bit faint, appears to be docketed but similar to his hand. Edge wear with fold lines and clear ink. CONDITION: Good. (D) David Hosack, American physician who studied under Benjamin Rush, ADS signed twice, New York, January 1, 1834, a receipt written to himself "To advice and attending in Feb. and May 1832 also in...January and February 1833..." Totaling 71 dollars. With Alexander Autographs Inc description. Partial folds, splits, lightly soiled, clear ink. CONDITION: Good. All former Dr. John K.
