A gathering of hair contained in an envelope that reads "Hair from the head of Charles Dickens. The hair came with a letter of authentication from "g.w.p.", Cincinnati, April 19, 1846 "...a little lock of Charles Dickens' hair which I know you will prize--please say nothing about it because of the cursed newspapers which catch everything and trumpet it..." (letter and greater part of lock of hair sold at Hamilton auction April 6, with authenticating letter a sig of Dickens and seal of Dickens". The hair is contained between plastic inside of the envelope. This hair is former Dr. John K. Lattimer Collection. Lattimer was known to collect hair from notable historical figures. CONDITION: Good.
