This example is accompanied by a scanned document detailing the history of the 58th Division, to which this regiment was attached. CONDITION: Metal components retain good amounts of their period arsenal applied blue finish, exhibiting concentrated areas of moderate wear and thinning that show through to a pleasant brown patina, some scattered areas of pitting, and some scattered spots of mild surface oxidation. Strawed components retain traces of their original finish, with the balance exhibiting a mottled gray patina and some spots of surface oxidation. Bore exhibits pitting throughout and retains fair rifling. Grips show some smoothing and some scattered marks and impressions from storage and handling but are otherwise sturdy and serviceable.
